What We Charge

Hourly rate $150.  Retainer $1,500 (we accept credit cards, cash, and checks) The retainer covers 10 hours of CDFA (certified divorce financial analyst) work.  This includes meeting with client, discussing their financial assets, budget needs and income.  We will provide a list of documentation needed to support the financial analysis report for mediation.  A sample copy of the financial analysis report is enclosed.  Typically this retainer will cover the time necessary to prepare for mediation. Additional costs if CDFA assists in mediation or additional time is necessary to prepare changes to financial analysis report post mediation.

 

Hourly rate $150 for preparation; $200 for any court appearance to include travel time.   Retainer is $3,000 for court cases.  The retainer will cover 20 hours of CDFA preparation, meetings with client, compilation of reports, lifestyle historical analysis with supporting documentation to support budgetary needs, and any court appearance will be calculated at an additional court appearance rate. 

 

Alimony cases.  Hourly rate $150 for preparation; $200 for any court appearance; representation of the recipient of the alimony or the payer of the alimony.  These cases can run anywhere from 20-40+ hours of preparation, meetings with client, documentation, lifestyle historical analysis, income verification, financial counseling regarding budgetary needs, mediation participation and court appearance.  Retainer of $3,000 with additional retainer if funds do not cover full costs.  These are typically your spouses in the higher income brackets. 

 

Valuation of pensions.  We have software that can provide reports of pension valuation.  Cost for this service is $375.  Documentation will be necessary to evaluate the pension and provide a report with backup documentation to support the outcome. 

 

QDRO (qualified domestic relations order) services.  $650 per retirement and/or pension plan completed by a SC family law attorney.  Service includes consultation with client to review rollover or cash out options from retirement/pension plans.
